YOU'RE INVITED TO BABY TRYGVE'S WELCOME SHOWER

Brock and Laela Arnold welcomed their first child, Trygve William Arnold, into the world on Monday, January 30, 2012. Now that they are home and settled in, they would like to share their newest addition with those that they love.

Please join us on Sunday, February 19th for a Welcome Baby Trygve shower. The festivities will begin at 2:00 PM at Shelly and Valerie Arnold's House (44 Arnold Lane, Elma, Washington).

NEW MOM SURVIVAL BOOK: We would like those invited to the shower to contribute their advice, favorite kid recipes, and favorite kid song lyrics to a book we are compiling for Laela. View the posting on this page for more details about how you can contribute to the book (whether you are able to attend the shower or not).

MEALS FOR THE FAMILY: We have also set up a meal registry for Brock and Laela at MealBaby. Feel free to sign up to prepare and deliver a meal to the new parents. View the posting on this page for directions on how to sign up.

BUILD BABY'S LIBRARY: In regards to gifts for the baby, we would like to "Build Baby's Library." Bring a copy of a favorite children's book (one that was your favorite as a child, or one that you loved reading to your children) to help the new parents build Trygve's storybook collection. 

NEED STILL MORE GIFT IDEAS?: Brock and Laela could also use monetary contributions to go toward the purchase of a stroller and a convertible car seat. 

NEW MOM SURVIVAL BOOK

New parents are always inundated with well meaning advice, from what to feed baby to how to get them to sleep through the night. But in the sleep-deprived state that accompanies motherhood, this advice oftentimes is forgotten.

As some of Laela's closest friends and family members, it is our duty to provide the new mother some great advice, recipes, and songs to make her life easier. All of your wisdom will be compiled and put into a custom-made book for Laela. If you can email the following information to Tonya Arnold (bigmeangirl@yahoo.com) prior to the shower:

• Best advice for a new mother
• Great recipe for kid-friendly food
• Favorite children's song lyrics (song that you were sung or that you sung to your own children)

If you are unable to get this information to Tonya prior to the shower, you can complete your entries at the shower itself on February 19.

MEALS FOR THE HAPPY FAMILY

As many of you know, Brock, Laela and Trygve are currently living with Will and Linda Arnold until the new family's apartment is finished. Will and Linda have been amazing in making sure the new parents are well fed and taken care of. But in the next couple of weeks, Will and Linda are planning on heading for sunny Arizona, and Brock and Laela will have to adjust to life with baby on their own.
